“Silence isn’t empty, it’s full of answers.”
We hear and speak about intuition often, but in reality how many of us can fully recognize it when it comes up? It’s that inner voice of knowing that it is there not just for some of us, but for all us. The question is…are we still enough to hear it? Are we brave enough to trust it? Are we strong enough to endure whatever it might entail? Lastly, are we willing to do the work it takes to cultivate our intuition and our inner power?
One might ask, why do I need to understand and listen to this intuition? Let’s begin with the number one reason, ultimately it gives you a sense of peace. Secondly, it is that rock solid part of you that is connected to the universe or source, so its wisdom will shine through and serve you in the best way possible. The third reason, would it not be nice to do away with the excess noise in our heads, the indecision, and second guessing that we can do to ourselves. If for no other reason, we owe it to ourselves and the world to step into each situation tuned into our intuition and our truth. So, we are moving from our highest self and making good choices that can impact many.
I believe the intuition can be one’s ultimate superpower; it’s the beautiful inner part of you that comes to each situation with the best intention and not out of emotions. Now let’s get right into the practice of strengthening our intuition…I find the best way to listen to one’s intuition is to get quiet. Listening and trusting our intuition is definitely a practice, we have to do the work to tune in and the confidence to stick to our gut decision. And don’t worry even if your mind starts to throw you into old patterns of doubting yourself. Just do it; one decision at a time. You get your mind to let go of the noise and move towards stillness. After getting still, have the patience and trust that the answers will come…wait for it. Get still by taking a walk outside, listen to your favorite songs, deep breaths, a nice bath, maybe a sweat session, and last but not least of course yoga/meditation/pranayama, which as you know I teach and would recommend all day long. Get quiet every day so you can get more in tune and see what surfaces. That place of tuning comes with so much wisdom, grace, and solace to help you flow through life in the easy and tough moments.
Now please hear me on this next part, just because you followed your intuition, it doesn’t mean you win the lottery each time. It also doesn’t mean there are roses, fireworks, and divine occurrences happening always. Yes, a lot of it will be great, but even following your gut may lead you first through a tough outcome, a detour, or a reset that you were meant to go through to learn about who you are, how your intuition works and if you are using it in the best way. We do not grow and learn by just being on an upward trajectory at all times.
I have found a sense of self-love and relief as I have started to trust my choices. I ask myself on decisions as small as which line to stand in at airport customs (kidding, but not kidding) to big things like which nursery school does my son belong in. It’s not that your intuition will give you the answer which is a 100% easy and blissful. But it will certainly give you a chance to go on the journey your soul is meant to live through and grow in. You will come out feeling more confident, at peace, and a trust within the whole process as you start leaning more into your intuition and less on the external distractions. What is the tough stuff of life that you are going through right now? Tell me more about it, and how can you begin to let go and live from your intuition?
